1999 was the year that Onno Raadsen put his backpack away in the closet after many trips. It was the same year that the Foundation Tio Loiro, now the Todos Foundation, was born. As a 'world traveler', he had various jobs in different countries, ranging form hotel employee in Curacao, cleaner in London, to an English teacher in Mexico, interspersed with a job teaching physical education in th Netherlands.
However, it was in Rio de Janeiro that his life changed. There he had watched children on playgrounds, with no supervision and no equipment. They were given no chance to playfully develop. Following his heart, Onno teached these orphans sports and games. He found his challenge. The enthousiasm and eagerness of these youth confirmed his motto: "Sport makes a difference'.
The experience of Onno Raadsen became the basis for the Todos Foundation in the Netherlands and ARCA in Brazil. He developed a method for youth to learn life skills through sports and games, based on the strength of youth. His dream 'a better future for children through sports' became true.
This method, the knowledge and the experience of Onno Raadsen is still international being used by Todos: 'YOuth leadership through sport & art'.
