The sports development organization ARCA focuses on the personal development of youth and increasing their chances of employment. ARCA uses sports and games to increase self-esteem so that youth in and around the Favelas in Fortaleza regain pride.

	Community Zizi   In the neighbourhood Zizi, which is the community center, young sport leaders offers an intensive program for cildren up to the age of 13.   All children in the community can participate in sports and games, self defense and tournaments.   They are introduced to activities from tag and running games to learning volleybal techniques. Respect, trust and cooperation are the central issues.

 

	Surfando para a vida   'Surfing for survival'. The surf school in Fortaleza runs on its own initiative and participation of youth.   The youth learn techniques of surfing and teaching, taking responsibility and solve their own problems.   English classes offer the youth a chance to get a job in tourisme, such as offering surfing lessons.

 

	Bricando na Rua   Six sports leaders and coordinator set off every week with a bus full of sports equipment.   Bricando na Rua, providing community sports in rural areas, assumes that every child has the right to play.   Every week they visit another community. The young sport leaders give children the opportunity to learn about new sports and games.
